Find Cheaper Flights with Momondo

Who doesn’t love to save money on airfare? When you can cut your travel costs down significantly, that means you have more money to spend on the things that really matter from tropical drinks with those cute little umbrellas to souvenirs for your family and friends back home.

There are plenty of websites out there that offer cheap flights. Among them, Google Flights seems to be one of the most well-known ways for reliable travel and cheap flights. Other common sites for scouting out cheaper airfare are Orbitz, Expedia, ExploreTrip, and Fareboom. But there’s one less people are familiar with which means it can be an ace in the hole for you. Momondo is able to access a range of travel agencies and a larger database than the others, plus it searches all OTAs (online travel agencies) so you only need to look in one place for your best rates.

Mostly, it has good reviews in regards to offering 100% transparency. It allows you to search all you want without changing the prices on you. The cookies Momondo uses are never to raise prices on the flights you search. One of the few downsides is that it’s a bit slower than other sites. Plus, if you want to schedule flights months and months in advance, it might not always have a clear picture. You can trick it though by using Google Flights to search for dates of the flights you want to the locations you want, then use them in Momondo.

How do you do it? Simple!

  1. On the Momondo home page, type your current location, your destination, and your starting and returning dates. You can also choose any flight considerations like economy class, business class, first class, or anything else you desire.
  2. Once you’ve selected the options you prefer, click the “Search” button. It may take a full minute for it to deliver your results.
  3. If you’d like to customize your search, you can do it after the results are delivered.

It’s also easy to filter things like the number of stopovers, the length of the flight, the time of day your flights are departing, airport origin, airlines and more. Once you get these results, you can scroll through and choose your cheapest flights. The tabs at the top of the search can show you the cheapest, the fastest, and the best flights to your desired destinations. You can also customize it. Each result is rated from 1 to 10 (1 being bad and 10 being good) based on the flight time and the price. When you find one you like, click the “Go To Site” button on your result. Be sure to expand the results with the “Detail” selection though so you can see if your cheap flight charges things like carry-on baggage fees.

Because Momondo doesn’t raise the prices with every search you conduct and it checks through and extensive database, it really will give you the cheapest flight options, making airfare affordable for any budget.
